Artist Statement
' I create and support experimental work that sits in between art forms and travels across borders. I practice sitting upon and between art forms, always in collaboration with an artist or a community. It’s in the in-betweens in which curiosity can truly be sparked.'
Biography:
Bek Berger is an independent artist, dramaturg, curator and creative producer originally from Australia and now based Berlin. Over the last five years Bek has worked extensively throughout Europe, New York and Australia, collaborating with such institutions as Moving in November (FI), Tanz Im August (DE), Darwin Festival (AU), MoMA PS1 (NY), Arts House (AU) and American Realness (NY) . Alongside her own curatorial practice she currently has collaborative projects with contemporary dance artist James Batchelor (AU) and media artist Daniel Hengst (DE) amongst others. In 2019 she will be the international-artist-in-residence at Annantalo, Finland in conjunction with the Australian Council of the Art’s HIAP residency.
